A number of people in Dombivli seem to be interested in trekking. Do let know others of any treks organised, people would love to join.

Hi All,

Dombivli as we all know is a home 2 various trekking groups..

One of my friend and his team are working on the ancient scriptings in the naneghat cave.

Naneghat cave as you might all know was very much the part of the silk trade route from the Western coastal ports of Thane,Kalyan,Bhiwandi,Nala Sopara etc with the rest of the deccan plateau.

The earthen pot near the magnificient col about 4 feet in height was used for collecting the daily octroi and it was said that it used to get filled completely in a single day.

May be bit of exaggeration,taking into consideration the then population but it does signifies the importance of the route.

So the inscriptions in this cave 2day r almost ruins and some groups are trying to resurrect them or atleast copy them before they r unreadble.

Request you all to share with us if you have any information related to these inscriptions or the cave as a whole.

There are few who take small children to outdoor camps, but not treks.
You can go for a small trek with groups like Trekshitiz and can accompany your child .
