Dombivli in 1975 1 Year, 2 Months ago Karma: 0
Hi every body!
I joined this forum today only.
I was in Dombivli in 1975-76.Later I moved to Hyderabad and never returned to Dombivli. But I could never forget the days I spent in Dombivli.
I write fiction in Telugu and for one particular novel I need Dombivli atmosphere .I will be grateful if any one could provide those details. .
I remember that Tilak is the name of the theater in Dombivli (East) where I saw Deewar and I am not sure about the name of the theater in West where Sholay was screened. Can some one help?
Similarly there were a couple of hotels (in East and West ) where we used to get nice filter coffee back in 1975.Unfortunately I could not remember those names. Please provide the details.
Thanks
Rachanalu

Amchi Dombivli

The theatre you are referring in west must be " Gopi ", which was running Sholay.
Gopi threatre is now Gopi Mall, with shopping complex and cinema hall.
Annapurna, Modern Cafe are the few south indian hotels in dombivli still serves good coffee.
Dombivli station is also under renovation having flyovers and extended tracks etc.

Regards

Dear Sri Premlal,
Thank you very much for the information.
Yes!It was at Gopi I saw many movies some thirty years back (Ankur & Sholay chiefly) And it was Annapurna which satisfied my south indian urge for a good cup of filter coffee. Thanks to Sri Premlal I could relive the past with more clarity!
With best wishes..
