The KDMC run library near phadke road is actually one of the gr8st asset of the corporation with sooooo many buks covering almost all sections of literature...

But the attitude of the ppl working there is like as in they are working for State Bank of India

Dnt knw by what logic they have made a decision of shutting close the library on all Sundays and 2 saturdays of the month. The working class from Dombivli who mostly travel all the way to Mumbai hardly find it possible to visit the library in the stipulated time till 8:30 in the weekdays.So only possible time they can find is weekends when the library is closed.

Also even though the closing time is 8:30 almost all the ppl working there have their watches 1/2 an hour fast.So if u reach by 8.05, 8:10 u r not supposed to issue or demand any book.

I dnt knw whats the libraries or rather the Corporations revenue is but an invertor can be & shud be put up to help out the citizen members,as many a times due to load shedding there are power cuts during evening time.

This can and has to be improved.. Lets start off with a signing campaign for the demand of an invertor...

Have you tried the library above the Vishnunagar Police Station in west. From the best of my knowledge, all the members of the library hold meetings there on saturday evening. I have also seen Abasaheb Patwari amongst them. We can catch hold of these guys there and let the know about this problem

Arre that Library is independent of KDMC Library..

Am a member of that library too..

It too is growing rapidly and has lots of buks..

But KDMC library has too big a catalogue for any library in Dombivli..

But if things do continue what they r currently all other libraries are sure to leave KDMC behind..

In a way it shows the healthy competition & the gr8 response of Dombivlites to Buk reading in todays age where almost everything and anything can be found on internet..

It shows the rich heritage of knowledge seeking ppl of Dombivli...

Hi, M a new bird in Dombivli..recently relocated. M avid book reader. Marathi and English to be more specific. I reside at Gograsswadi Dombivli East. Would be glad if any one can suggest some good library here. Also if you can divulge the memebership fees along with pros and cons, would be highly appreciated.
