We all stay in Dombivli and all know what it is. However this brief is to put things we know or dont know about Dombivli together. Dombivli happens to have grown extremely rapidly in past two decades. Old residents of Dombivli tell stories of huge farms and open spaces in Dombivli till late 80's. Refering to the article in Dombivali Kalyan Plus Dombivli lacks connectivity to Thane and parts of Mumbai. This has been due to detour of the highway due to the creek. It takes much less time to walk from the point where highway crosses Diva-Vasai line than to drive down to Bhiwandi-Kalyan and then Dombivli! Last I had tried this was some 2 years back and took me about 30 mins. One just have to walk about a kilometer from the highway to the creek using the road through the village, then climb on the 7-bridges, cross the creek, reach reti bunder and take a rickshaw back home!! |
