We all stay in Dombivli and all know what it is. However this brief is to put things we know or dont know about Dombivli together. Dombivli happens to have grown extremely rapidly in past two decades. Old residents of Dombivli tell stories of huge farms and open spaces in Dombivli till late 80's. Since then, Dombivli has provided shelter to the fastest growing Middle class population in Mumbai. Standard of living keep on increasing, middle class moved to higher middle class and moved to town side locations like Mulund, Thane. However, Dombivli continues to be home for a Common Man.

Dombivli for decades has been place for middle class people, mostly Marathi. These people are extremely hardworking and constantly struggling for better living. Dombivli Fast is story of such a middle class marathi person. This Marathi Movie, also featured in many international film festival is story of a common man in Mumbai. Sandeep Kulkarni plays role of our hero - middle class man- Madhav Apte, who is stubborn and man of principles. The movie nicely depicts the redundancy of everyday life of a middle class population. Getting up early in the morning, getting late for office, catching the same train, same local train rush, and all routine. |
