Dombivli for decades has been place for middle class people, mostly Marathi. These people are extremely hardworking and constantly struggling for better living. Dombivli Fast is story of such a middle class marathi person. This Marathi Movie, also featured in many international film festival is story of a common man in Mumbai.

Sandeep Kulkarni plays role of our hero - middle class man- Madhav Apte, who is stubborn and man of principles. The movie nicely depicts the redundancy of everyday life of a middle class population. Getting up early in the morning, getting late for office, catching the same train, same local train rush, and all routine.

Madhav Apte as a civic servent never bribed anyone or took bribe from anyone else. He belives in live and let live and has lived his life in a straight forward way on his principles. And is bound to stick to his principles. However he is troubled by the corruption around, pain of the people and careless Chalta-hain type attitude. Everyting he tries to change or fight against corruption he is let down by his friends or colleagues. His wife is also not supportive and doesnt support his principles. His friends and neighbours are not happy with his uncompromising attitude and wants him to change in tandem to the real corrupt world.

One fine day, he decides to go against everyone, and flip the taunts and drudgery around. This is where the story of movie is all about. The movie holds the flow of story with excellent supporting cast and fabulous acting. Sandesh Jadhav plays the role of police while Shipa Tulaskar is his wife in the movie. The director Nishikant Kamat have done an excellent job catching the theme of common marathi man.

Some people felt that a little bit more time should have been spent in character building, due to which it takes sometime to empathize with the main protagonist. Many complain about a  drag in the midlle but ending of the film is highly appreciated and people are willing to neglect the little flaws for that.

The movie depicts how every person should think, but also at the same time, sticks to the sad reality of how the outcome might turn up. A deep silence after the end of the movie in the cinema hall is the proof of that.
